I launched Heartfelt Ceremonies in 2005 having gained 15 years’ experience in the births and wedding industry.
As a Registrar of Marriages I arranged and registered around 5,000 ceremonies in the Poole district. Following that as Superintendent Registrar in North Dorset I performed around 2,000 ceremonies – mainly weddings, at venues as varied as Castles and Barns. During this time I was also Training Officer for Dorset and spent 8 years attending and running courses for Registrars, introducing the Baby Naming, Renewal of Vows and Citizenship Ceremonies.
It was clear that here in England and Wales, we were falling behind other countries with the freedom of law to marry somewhere different, often out of doors.
The law may not have changed here, but I listened to my customers asking to make their vows in a unique and personal way, maybe at night under a starlit sky, sing songs, play instruments, etc. and researched a way to enable this.
I decided to take my experience, passion and expertise and introduce a completely new service. Working independently I can meet my customers personally, design the ceremony uniquely, and perform with complete freedom – no time limit or content restraints. My customers are thrilled to be able to have the ceremony they have always wanted, and I am delighted to be able to fulfil their wishes.
